UBC MATH 101
Integral Calculus with Applications to Physical Sciences and Engineering
MATH 101 is a continuation of calculus concepts for students in science, engineering, and related programs. The course focuses on integral calculus, covering topics such as definite and indefinite integrals, techniques of integration, applications of integrals (e.g., areas, volumes, work), and an introduction to differential equations. Emphasis is placed on applying these concepts to problems in the physical sciences and engineering.

Our Teaching Philosophy for UBC MATH 101
Step-by-Step Problem Solving
We guide you through integration techniques and applications with detailed explanations, ensuring clarity and confidence in problem-solving.
Focus on Conceptual Understanding
We emphasize understanding the “why” behind integration methods, helping you apply them flexibly to diverse problems rather than relying on memorization.
Practical Applications and Visual Learning
Through real-world examples and visual tools like graphs and sketches, we make integral calculus intuitive and engaging, bridging theory and application.
